I’m Bess, a product designer with a unique background in user onboarding and activation.
Over the past five years, I’ve been perfecting my skills in user-centred design within the dynamic startup ecosystems. I have specifically gained experience in enhancing user onboarding and feature discovery processes [thanks to my experience at contextual] ensuring that every interaction with the product is seamless and intuitive.
Over the past year I’ve pursued my career as the product designer at Veridooh in which I’ve contributed in all the aspects of global expansion of the company. By leading projects from the PMF discovery in global markets to the implementation I have gained valuable insights and skills. This ranges from leading teams, stakeholder management to designing products that are fit to multiple users from different demographics and with different needs.
Outside of work, I love attending group activities like hiking and camping, fully embracing nature’s beauty. I also have a love for tea, with a collection of leaves to brew and savour. Cooking for friends and family brings me joy, and I cherish the moments spent sharing meals together.
Currently residing in Sydney with my partner and our adorable cavalier ❤ , every day feels like a new adventure.
My design philosophy
Design process doesn’t end as long as there’s room for improvement
To design is to create solutions for the product problems and pain points. It is important not to assume the problem is solved when the solution implementation is completed.
Immediate solutions aren’t usually the best ones
It is very important to get deep and learn all about the different aspects of the product and the problem you’re trying to solve rather than looking for immediate solutions.
Creating solutions is a complicated process and might take a while to come up with the best answers.
Design not just for the optimised scenarios and always look for edge cases
Tech products are often very complicated and the users might come from different journeys. It is important not to only design for the predicted scenario but for all the possible edge cases and errors occurring both from the user side and product side.
